About This Song
About "Play" by Angela Johnson
Johnson turns play into a shimmering soul command. The rhythm is a cat-and-mouse game of syncopated keys and warm bass, her voice teasing the downbeat. It's flirtation as architecture—light on its feet, but structurally precise, never letting the groove slip.
