About This Song
About "String Sextet in A Major, Op. 48, B. 80: II. Dumka. Poco allegretto" by Christian Altenburger
The Dumka is a Slavic elegy disguised as a gentle dance. Its poco allegretto pulses with a bittersweet sway, Altenburger drawing out the sextet’s plaintive harmonies—music that smiles through tears, its warmth continually interrupted by a whisper of loss.
