About "Bach, JS: Prelude and Fugue in A Minor, BWV 543: Prelude (Transcr. Liszt)" by Alexis Weissenberg
Liszt's transcription of Bach's A-minor Prelude becomes a cathedral of sound under Weissenberg's hands. The organ's original grandeur is compressed into piano keys, each phrase a stone arch rising toward a fragile, trembling spire. There's a tension between architectural certainty and the quicksilver anxiety of the fingers—calm order masking a restless, searching soul.
