About This Song
About "Sances: Motetti a voce sola: No. 17, Pianto della Madonna. "Stabat Mater dolorosa"" by Artaserse
Sances's setting of the Stabat Mater dolorosa is a stark, grieving motet. Artaserse's voice becomes a lone tear suspended in time, the sparse accompaniment a cold cathedral of sound. The emotional tension is palpable: sacred sorrow held in exquisite, trembling balance.
