About This Song
About "O vos omnes, qui transitis per viam" by Cambridge Singers
Victoria's responsory addresses all who pass by, and the choir answers with a grief that is almost unbearable in its beauty. The harmonies sag like heavy stone, each cadence a small collapse. Cambridge Singers find the terrible stillness inside the lament—a music of shadows, where sorrow is not expressed but inhabited.
