About "Piano Quintet In A, D.667 - "The Trout" : Schubert: Piano Quintet In A, D.667 - "The Trout": 4. Thema - Andantino - Variazioni I-V - Allegretto" by Christoph Eschenbach

Schubert's 'Trout' theme swims through five variations, each a ripple in a clear stream. Eschenbach and ensemble capture the playful current—now darting, now lingering—with a chamber intimacy that turns the andantino into a conversation among friends. Calm surface, hidden depths.
