About This Song
About "Dear People" by Cecil Payne
A ballad of direct address, Payne's horn speaks to 'dear people' with unsentimental tenderness. The melody is a letter read aloud in a quiet room, each note weighted with care. Beneath the calm delivery, a current of longing—for connection, for understanding—runs deep and steady.
