About This Song
About "You Said You Could Protect Us" by Simon Franglen
A slow, mournful string figure carries the weight of a broken promise. You Said You Could Protect Us is elegiac and hollow, the melody circling like a wound that won’t close. Franglen keeps the dynamics restrained, letting the sadness sit in the room—unadorned, unconsoled, and deeply human.
