About "Schwanengesang, D. 957 : Schubert: Schwanengesang, D. 957: Die Taubenpost, D. 965a" by Bryn Terfel
Schubert's 'Die Taubenpost' finds Terfel in tender form. The piano's gentle flutter mimics a carrier pigeon's wings, while the vocal line yearns with quiet desperation. It's a study in longing—the calm surface of a love letter masking the ache of separation, a messenger's flight into the unknown.
