About "String Quartet No. 14 in D Minor, D.810 -"Death and the Maiden" : Schubert: String Quartet No. 14 in D Minor, D.810 -"Death and the Maiden": III. Scherzo (Allegro molto)" by Amadeus Quartet
Schubert's 'Death and the Maiden' Scherzo is a macabre dance, its Allegro molto snapping like a skeleton's jig. The Amadeus Quartet teases out the terror beneath the triple-time elegance, each bowstroke a step closer to the grave—calm precision masking a frantic, mortal heartbeat.
