About This Song
About "Requiem : Rutter: Requiem: Pie Jesu" by Caroline Ashton
Caroline Ashton's Pie Jesu from Rutter's Requiem floats on a soprano's crystalline thread. The orchestral bed is serene, almost consoling, yet the Latin plea for eternal rest carries an undercurrent of grief. Sacred calm and human sorrow lock eyes in this exquisite, trembling prayer.
