About This Song
About "Carmina Burana : Orff: Carmina Burana: XII. Olim lacus colueram" by Choeur De L'Orchestre Symphonique De Montréal
Orff’s roasted swan sings its grotesque lament in 'Olim lacus colueram'—a tenor’s falsetto wheeling over barbed orchestration. The Montréal choir provides a mocking frame, turning medieval cruelty into carnival. It’s absurd and unsettling: a bird turning on a spit, its song a blackly comic requiem for innocence lost to appetite.
