About "Fantasía para un gentilhombre : Rodrigo: Fantasía para un gentilhombre: III. Danza de las hachas. Allegro con brio" by Andrés Segovia
The 'Danza de las hachas' is a fire dance, and Segovia's guitar strikes sparks. Rodrigo's homage to Baroque Spain here becomes a flamenco-tinged whirlwind, the melody darting like a torchbearer. There's a manic joy to it, the calm of the previous movement shattered by a sudden, bright violence.
