About This Song
About "I Ain't Gonna Cry for You" by Billy Ward
'I Ain't Gonna Cry for You' is doo-wop defiance, Ward's vocal a proud mask over a quivering hurt. The backing vocals offer a cushion of warmth, but the tension between swagger and sorrow makes it a classic tearstained stomp.
