About "Mack the Knife" by Bill Haley & His Comets
Haley's band recasts the sinister as a saxophone strut, brass gleaming over a prowling beat. The shadow of a blade becomes a dance-floor dare—calm swing undercut by something predatory. It's menace in a sharp suit, smiling while the bass walks its slow, knowing line.
