About "Horn Trio in E-Flat Major, Op. 40 : Brahms: Horn Trio in E-Flat Major, Op. 40: II. Scherzo. Allegro" by Barry Tuckwell
Brahms's Scherzo is a playful duel: horn and piano spar with affectionate ferocity. Tuckwell's tone is robust yet agile, a dancer in heavy boots. The E-flat major romp masks a shadow—the scherzo's grin is just a little too wide, hinting at the sorrow beneath.
