About This Song
About "Toccata & Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565 : J.S. Bach: Toccata & Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565: II. Fugue" by Helmut Walcha
Helmut Walcha's organ fugue from Bach's Toccata & Fugue in D Minor is a architectural avalanche of counterpoint. The subject climbs like ivy up cathedral stone, each voice a thread in a tightly wound knot. Calm registration meets turbulent invention, the fugue's logic both reassuring and unsettling.
