About This Song
About "Elgar: Soliloquy for Oboe and Orchestra (Orch. by Gordon Jacob)" by Albrecht Mayer
Elgar’s Soliloquy, orchestrated by Gordon Jacob, is a solitary reverie for oboe. Mayer shapes its melodic line like a whispered confession, the orchestra a soft-focus haze behind him. The tension lies in restraint: elegance masking a deep, unspoken melancholy.
