About "Tchaikovsky: Nocturne, Op. 19 No. 4 (Version for Cello & Orchestra)" by Mischa Maisky
Tchaikovsky's Nocturne, arranged for cello and orchestra, becomes a moonlit confession. Maisky's phrasing is velvet and ache, the melody rising like a sigh then sinking into shadow. The calm is deceptiveβeach swell holds a tremor of melancholy, beauty pressed against silence.
