About This Song
About "Guadeloupe an nous" by Alain Jean Marie
A title invoking Guadeloupe 'in us' sets the stage for a piano piece that feels like a memory map. Jean-Marie weaves creole cadences into jazz-inflected lines, the mood both proud and wistful. The tension lies between rootedness and the ache of distance.
