About "Pieces from "Romeo and Juliet", Op. 75 : Prokofiev: Pieces from "Romeo and Juliet", Op. 75: 9. Dance of the Girls with Lilies" by Bella Davidovich
Prokofiev's 'Dance of the Girls with Lilies' receives a performance of crystalline delicacy. Davidovich emphasizes the music's eerie grace, the lilies seeming to sway in a twilight garden. Beneath the ballet's charm lurks a shadow of unease, a tension between innocence and knowing.
