About This Song
About "Jolivet : Bassoon Concerto : II Allegro gioviale" by André Jolivet
Jolivet's bassoon concerto second movement is a jaunty, woodwind grin that never quite hides its teeth. The allegro gioviale bounces with pastoral cheer, but the harmonies twist like roots underfoot—a jovial dance on uneven ground, where brightness and a faint, earthy disquiet share the same breath.
