About This Song
About "Le nozze di Figaro, K.492 / Act 1 : Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro, K.492 / Act 1: Recitativo: “Va’ là, vecchia pedante”" by Christiane Karg
‘Va’ là, vecchia pedante’—a recitative that snaps with youthful insolence. Karg’s Susanna tosses off the old nurse’s meddling with razor-sharp diction, each syllable a flick of the wrist. The continuo’s sparse accompaniment leaves her voice exposed, a lone spark in the dusty anteroom of intrigue.
