About "Praeludium and Allegro in the Style of Pugnani (Arr. for Violin & Strings by John Webber): II. Allegro" by Benjamin Schmid
The 'Allegro' from Kreisler's Pugnani pastiche bursts with virtuosic fire. Schmid's violin leaps and dances, a tightrope walk between elegance and abandon. The Baroque style is a mask for Romantic display, each run and trill a flash of controlled ecstasy. It's joyous, but with a hint of wildness.
