About This Song
About "Ham Hocks" by Cecil Payne
Cecil Payne's baritone sax struts through a smoky hard-bop kitchen, 'Ham Hocks' simmering with greasy swing and sly wit. The groove is loose but never sloppy, a soulful tension between swagger and restraint, brass glinting like a well-seasoned skillet.
