About This Song
About "Vivaldi: Cessate, omai cessate, RV 684: I. Largo e sciolto. "Cessate, omai cessate"" by Artaserse
Vivaldi's 'Cessate, omai cessate' opens with a largo that feels like a sigh of surrender. Artaserse renders the plea with velvet melancholy, the strings a gentle tide pulling away from shore. Here, calm and resignation blur into a haunting, suspended stillness.
