About "6 Morceaux, Op. 11 : Rachmaninoff: 6 Morceaux, Op. 11 - 1. Barcarolle" by Bracha Eden
Rachmaninoff's Barcarolle rocks with a dark, sweeping melancholy—a boat drifting on a river of shadows. The melody is a long, aching sigh, its beauty laced with a premonition of loss. Four hands create a vast, lonely horizon, calm and deeply unsettled.
