About This Song
About "Not Listening (DJ-Kicks)" by Maya Jane Coles
Maya Jane Coles closes the DJ-Kicks with a shrug and a sub-bass. 'Not Listening' is a study in selective deafness—the vocal clipped, the groove relentless, the tension between what's said and what's heard. Calm on the surface, but the kick drum is a door you can't quite shut.
