About "Pastoral Mass in G Major, Op. 24: V. Benedictus" by Augsburger Domsingknaben
The 'Benedictus' from Rheinberger's Pastoral Mass glows with rustic warmth. The Augsburger Domsingknaben shape the melody like a shepherd's pipe at dusk, the organ breathing soft as a meadow breeze. But the pastoral calm is underpinned by a gentle melancholy—a landscape where peace and loneliness are inseparable companions.
