About "Les Barricades Mystérieuses" by Khatia Buniatishvili
Buniatishvili plays Couperin’s mysterious barricades as if parting velvet curtains. The piano’s harpsichord heritage flickers—ornaments like hidden glances, a repeating bass that feels like a locked door. Calm and unease entwine: a labyrinth of polite society where every gesture conceals another.
