About "Te Deum, H.146: Te per orbem terrarum" by Charles Brett
Handel’s 'Te per orbem terrarum' is a declaration of faith that sweeps like a tide. Brett’s countertenor rides the ensemble’s swell with regal poise, yet there’s a flicker of doubt in the phrasing—as if the singer knows that proclaiming the infinite is always an act of beautiful hubris.
