About "Szenen aus Goethes Faust, WoO 3 Pt. I: Szene im Garten" by Christian Gerhaher
In Goethe's garden scene, Schumann's music coils with erotic tension. Gerhaher navigates the baritone's conflicted ardor—desire masked as courtesy, a storm beneath still air. The orchestra breathes like a held sigh, lush and uneasy.
