About "String Quartet in D Minor, Hob. III: 76 (Op. 76 No. 2 - "Fifths") : Haydn: String Quartet in D Minor, Hob. III: 76 (Op. 76 No. 2 - "Fifths"): I. Allegro" by Amadeus Quartet
Haydn's 'Fifths' Quartet opens with a motif that falls like a question mark. The Amadeus Quartet captures the Allegro's coiled intensity, the repeated interval creating a sense of obsessive unease. It's a movement that balances classical poise with a simmering, almost modern anxiety.
