About "Requiem in D Minor, Op. 48: I. Introit et Kyrie" by John Rutter
Fauré's Introit et Kyrie opens with a hush, as if entering a candlelit crypt. Rutter's choir sustains a fragile plea for mercy, the D minor harmonies swelling with solemn grace—a requiem that trembles between despair and hope.
