About This Song
About "Hold Up" by Serge Gainsbourg
'Hold Up' finds Gainsbourg in a groove that's both loose and sinister, a slow-burn shuffle with a threat buried in the rhythm. The calm is a con—each bar tightens the screw. It's the sound of a heist gone wrong, or a lover's patience snapping.
