About This Song
About "The End" by Carter Burwell
The End' from Carol is a devastatingly quiet resolution. Burwell lets a single piano line hang in the air like a held breath, the emotional tension between acceptance and longing stretched to a breaking point. It's a farewell that lingers, unresolved and beautiful.
