About "Xerxes, HWV 40: Ombra mai fù (Largo) [Instrumental Version]" by Arthur Fiedler
Handel's 'Ombra mai fù,' in Fiedler's instrumental version, is a study in serene majesty. The Largo unfolds like shade beneath a ancient tree—cool, unhurried, and quietly monumental. The tension is barely perceptible: a stillness so complete it feels like the world holding its breath.
