About This Song
About "French Suite No. 1 in D Minor, BWV 812 : J.S. Bach: French Suite No. 1 in D Minor, BWV 812: IV. Menuet I" by Christopher Hogwood
Hogwood's harpsichord spins a delicate, clockwork Menuet—each ornament a tiny, polished gear. The dance is courtly and calm on the surface, yet beneath the orderly Baroque phrasing runs a subtle, quicksilver restlessness, like a porcelain figurine twirling just a fraction too fast.
