About "Mendelssohn: Auf Flügeln des Gesanges, Op. 34, No. 2" by Mischa Maisky
Mischa Maisky’s cello sings Mendelssohn’s 'Auf Flügeln des Gesanges' with a tender, airborne grace. The melody flutters like a bird on the wing, each phrase a gentle ascent into serene skies. Yet beneath the beauty lies a faint ache, a longing for a flight that cannot last, captured in Maisky’s warm, searching tone.
