About This Song
About "Gabrieli: O Jesu mi Dulcissime II (Gumpelzhaimer MS)" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Gabrieli's motet blooms in Venice's golden acoustics, the King's College voices imitating cori spezzati. 'O Jesu mi Dulcissime' is sung with tender, antiphonal warmth, each phrase a beam of light crossing the nave. Sweetness held in tension with architectural rigor.
