About This Song
About "Tales of Hoffmann: Barcarolle" by Arthur Fiedler
Offenbach's 'Barcarolle' rocks gently on a gondola of sighing strings, its melody a velvet caress. Fiedler draws out the tune's languid beauty, but beneath the romantic sway lies a faint melancholy—a moonlit canal where pleasure and loneliness drift together.
