About "Fumée aux yeux (Smoke Gets in Your Eyes)" by François Deguelt
François Deguelt's 'Fumée aux yeux' reimagines 'Smoke Gets in Your Eyes' as a smoky French ballad. The title's image—smoke in the eyes—becomes a metaphor for love's blinding tears, as Deguelt's mournful delivery and a weeping string section turn romantic heartbreak into a hazy, elegant fog.
