About This Song
About "Anna Bolena - Tragedia lirica in due atti / Act 1 : Donizetti: Anna Bolena - Tragedia lirica in due atti / Act 1: Questo dì per noi spuntato" by John Alldis Choir
Act 1 opens with a sunlit chorus, 'Questo dì per noi spuntato,' yet Donizetti laces the joy with an undertow of foreboding. The John Alldis Choir sings of a day 'dawned for us' as if it were a fragile glass ornament—bright, celebratory, and already cracking under the weight of fate.
