About "Sweets For My Sweet (Re-Recorded Version)" by Mike Pender's Searchers
Sweets for my sweet—a promise so simple it aches. Mike Pender's Searchers deliver the re-recorded classic with jangling guitars and warm harmonies, but the sugarcoated chorus hides a quiet desperation. It's devotion as confectionery, sweet on the surface, slightly sour underneath.
