About This Song
About "Götterdämmerung / Act 3 : Wagner: Götterdämmerung / Act 3: "Mein Erbe nun nehm' ich zu eigen" (Live In Bayreuth / 1967)" by Birgit Nilsson
Nilsson claims her inheritance with a voice of burnished steel and sorrow. The phrase 'mein Erbe' becomes a bitter crown—she sings of legacy not as triumph but as burden, the weight of gods pressing down on mortal shoulders. The orchestration swirls like smoke, and her tone is both sovereign and achingly alone.
