About This Song
About "Götterdämmerung / Act 3 : Wagner: Götterdämmerung / Act 3: "Starke Scheite schichtet mir dort" (Live In Bayreuth / 1967)" by Birgit Nilsson
The funeral pyre is commanded into being with Nilsson's imperious, clarion tone. Each syllable is a stone stacked for Valhalla's end—calm, ritualistic, yet charged with apocalyptic dread. Her voice holds the eerie stillness of a world already burning, a queen arranging her own immolation with terrifying grace.
