About This Song
About "Barbados" by Charlie Parker
A Caribbean breeze blows through this Savoy date, but Parker's alto turns the island sway into a labyrinth of harmonic detours. The rhythm section churns, Miles Davis offers cool counterpoint, and the melody's sunny facade cracks into something more searching—exile dressed as escapism.
