About "Requiem: V. Agnus Dei" by Cambridge Singers
Rutter's 'Agnus Dei' is a slow, aching plea for peace, the Cambridge Singers drawing out each syllable like a held breath. The music is calm, almost lullaby-like, but a current of sorrow runs beneath—a recognition of sacrifice. It's the sound of mercy being asked for, not assumed.
