About This Song
About "Tosca / Act II : Puccini: Tosca / Act II: "Vissi d'arte, vissi d'amore"" by Anna Netrebko
Netrebko's 'Vissi d'arte' is a candle guttering in a cathedral: Puccini's prayer for art and love becomes a slow-burning accusation. The orchestra holds its breath; her soprano floats between devotion and disbelief, a heart suspended mid-beat.
