About This Song
About "Vocalise, Op. 34, No. 14 (Arr. for Flute and Orchestra)" by James Galway
Rachmaninoff's Vocalise becomes a wordless confession, Galway's flute substituting for the human voice with aching tenderness. The melody rises and falls like a sigh caught in the throat, a study in restrained passion that lingers in the silence long after the final note.
